Connect with Your Purpose and Magic

I read an amazing book called Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon's Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart by James. R. Doty, MD that really made a huge impact on my life.

The story is about his chance meeting with a woman in a magic shop and how his relationship with her helped him through a tumultuous childhood, dealing with an alcoholic father and a mother chronically depressed and paralyzed by a stroke.

Connection. It’s so important. We just need the right person to bring out the best in us, show us our potential, believe in us.

This young man had the woman in the store who taught him many lessons and he ended up becoming a neurosurgeon. There are many other wonderful takeaways in this book, so I certainly encourage you to read it.

It reminded me of the power of visualization, thinking about what we really want in life and learning to deal with our life struggles.

It reminded me that we all have magic inside of us. We have power. We have purpose. We might need a coach, mentor, friend, spouse, partner, child, to help us realize it - but it’s there. I’m here to be the woman in the magic shop for you.
